ABOUT THE ROLE
UNITY™ Tactical is seeking a talented and motivated controller who wants to employ his/her skills to manage and oversee financial operations for the company. This person will lead the provision of cost analysis, standard cost development, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, variance analysis, month-end closing and reporting. The controller provides and interprets accurate and timely financial information to the CFO and staff that will drive company performance to achieve business objectives. This includes the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and present financial reports to the CFO, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and customer account management.
- Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.
- Monitor A/R and A/P aging reports and address any issues related to collections or payments.
- Monthly & Annual Close Process:
- Coordinate and manage the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit necessary journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting:
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
- Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Provide training and support to enhance the team’s skills and performance.
- General:
- Lead or participate in special projects as directed by the CFO, including process improvements and financial system enhancements.
- Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.
- Develop and implement systems to manage capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Identify and implement process improvements that positively impact the function, as well as the business.
- Support long-term inventory planning process through relevant analysis.
- Develop deep knowledge and understanding of the UNITY™ Tactical brand, its business operations, products and customer-base.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related degree. CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or the firearms industry is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong eye for detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Ability to effectively communicate with associates, vendors and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Understanding of supply chain risk management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Zoho, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to initiate and lead projects.
- Ability to work on a deadline.
- Resourcefulness.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, as well as independently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
- Eagerness to learn and accept challenges.
